Official Purdue University Athletics Football Site
The official web site maintained by Purdue University for the men's football team. The authoritative source for schedules, game and venue information, press releases, and much, much more. The site is updated frequently. "Game Notes" are posted every Monday during the season with a detailed description of the upcoming game and current statistics. Other highlights include the depth chart, interviews with players and coaches, streaming video of past games, team member biographies and stats, progress reports from practices, and recruiting updates. You can also purchase tickets for home games at Ross-Ade Stadium from the box office here.
College Football News
This is the quintessential web site for current news and analysis of college football. Every team and every game is dissected and fearless (and more often than not, correct) predictions are made for every single matchup of Division 1A teams. Their style of writing is shooting-from-the-hip with a sense of humor and conveys the fans' passion for the game. They deliver the best written coverage of college football, in my opinion. They make Sports Illustrated and ESPN Magazine look like TV Guide. The best part about College Football News is that it's completely free.
Old Gold Free Press (Mr. Gridiron)
Mr. Gridiron, aka the Old Gold Free Press, is probably the best fan site on the Internet for Purdue football. They have regular guest writers and message boards that are fairly active during the season. They do a great job of compiling press releases and stories related to the team and posting them on a daily basis, making it easy to keep up on Boilermakers in the news in one convenient place.
Gold & Black Illustrated (Rivals.com)
The online version of the magazine received by members of the John Purdue Club with more current events and in-depth coverage about the Boilermakers. You have to pay to access the "premium ticket" content on this site, but there's a lot of good stuff for free too. You need to pay for "Knucklehead Central" but there is a good, free discussion board also.
Current Purdue Football Items on eBay
This link performs a search on items up for auction on eBay that contain the keywords "Purdue" and "Football." This usually catches all tickets, merchandise, and memorabilia that are for sale on eBay. If you're looking for tickets to a sold-out game, this is the best place to start.
Ross-Ade Stadium Information
Ross-Ade Stadium is in the middle of a seat relocation and renovation. Here's the seating chart for the 2003 season. Capacity is being reduced from 67,332 to roughly 62,500 seats. Visitors usually sit in the south endzone and the lower parts of Sections 101 and 102. The Purdue band plays in the north endzone. For more information about Ross-Ade, tickets, or parking, click here. I have also included a parking map from the John Purdue Club. General public parking is available in the Intramural Lot.
Lafayette Journal & Courier's BoilerStation
This is the Lafayette Journal & Courier's online coverage of Purdue Football. They usually post stories within a day after they run in the newspaper. Because they are a local paper, they have the most extensive and in-depth coverage. They were kind enough to mention this web site in a recent article.
Indianapolis Star's Purdue Sports Page
The Indianapolis Star newspaper also has a web site that mirrors their coverage of Purdue sports. It isn't as good as the Journal and Courier's BoilerStation, but they have a good question-and-answer guy.
The Purdue Exponent Sports Page
The Exponent is Purdue's campus newspaper with articles either culled directly from the wire or written by students.
The Official NCAA Football Site
Official news and current events for NCAA men's football from all conference divisions. This site contains a wealth of information including the rules of the game, referee signals, polls, statistics, records, schedules, and links to all NCAA football teams.
John Purdue Club
The John Purdue Club was established in 1958 to provide scholarships to student-athletes. Members enjoy perks such as priority seating and parking along with the satisfaction of contributing to the program. The club magazine, the Gold & Black Illustrated, publishes 26 issues during the season, and there are many special events throughout the year for members.
The Sporting News: Purdue
The Sporting News has decent coverage of the Boilermakers, but we don't seem to get much attention from their staff unless our team is ranked. In fact, most of the major news outlets such as Yahoo Sports, ESPN, CBS Sportsline, and CNN/Sports Illustrated operate like mindless robots regurgitating their content from the news wire. Once you've seen one of these sites, you've seen them all.
www.BoilerGold.com
A new site with complete historical schedules and scores for both football and basketball. It looks like they'll be adding sections for memorabilia, programs, etc.
TheFinalScore.Net
Andy Gamm's excellent fan site covering Big Ten football and basketball with message boards and weekly previews of all Big Ten games.
Spoilermaker Dave's Web Site
Dave posts his commentary before and after every game. Dave has an extensive online video archive of great moments in Boilermaker football history as well.
GoBoilers.com
Probably the most amusing fan site on the web, featuring "Who's the man? Joe Tiller is the man" and other antics brought to you by the Brush-A-Maniacs.
The Average Sports Guys
The Average Sports Guys have an Internet radio show that broadcasts on Fridays before games. Their site has all kinds of good stuff such as an index of fight songs & cheers, commentary and photos, and discussion groups.
PurdueInsiders.Com
I don't know very much about The Insiders because it's a premium site & you need to pay to access most of their content. They seem to be focussed mainly on recruiting.

This is a non-commercial site. Please report broken links or suggestions to boiler@improsaic.com.
